We make the social power of networks visible. With the accessible MLM-Tool, we help people gain insight into their social relationships, independently or with minimal support. We also provide professionals with training and materials so they can guide others.

Our story

The MLM-Tool started with a simple but urgent question from parents at OSANI: “What will happen to my child when I’m no longer around?”
Together with these parents, Angelique discovered the real question wasn’t what, but who: Who will be there?
This insight led to a practical tool that turns worries into action—a simple method that visualizes someone’s network in five clear steps.

During her work with patient organizations, Angelique saw time and again how important a strong social network is—and how little people actually know about who is truly there for them. There was no practical tool to make this visible. That’s where the MLM-Tool made a difference. In 2016, the booklet “MLM – My Life With… Who?” was published.

After successful projects at ’s Heerenloo (2017–2019) and a European project with Maasstad Hospital (2020–2023), the tool is now used in municipal programs in England. In 2025, we launched the online version in the Netherlands.

The MLM-Tool is for everyone—parents, informal caregivers, support workers, and healthcare professionals. For anyone who wants to see, understand, and strengthen their social network.

As a director at organizations such as the Dutch Council for the Chronically Ill and Disabled (CG-Raad), Humanitas, and the MS and Osteoporosis Associations, I kept seeing the same issue: people’s social networks were rarely truly seen or strengthened.

I kept asking myself: Who is there when you need someone? Who can you call?

In 2010, together with parents of children with disabilities, I developed the first version of the MLM-Tool. This was followed by projects at ’s Heerenloo, the European PATH program, and in 2025 the launch of the digital MLM-Tool.

My mission: to make social networks visible and usable for individuals themselves, and for the professionals who support them.

Since 2020, I’ve been passionately committed to MLM – My Life With…
I truly believe in the power of connection. A strong and supportive social network is the foundation. With the MLM-Tool, I want to reach as many people as possible and help them experience what their own network can mean for them.

What I really value about Mijn Leven Met… is its practical and accessible approach. The tool and materials are easy to use for everyone—and they truly make a difference in people’s lives.
